Climate change is predicted to change many environment conditions that could affect the natural properties of fresh and marine waters worldwide. Changes in these factors could favor the growth of algal blooms and habitat changes. An increase in the occurrence and intensity of algal blooms may impact the environment, human health, and the economy for communities around the world.

 

However, the world is running out of food – we need to produce 70% more food in the next 40 years according to the UN. Yet we continue to over-populate the planet use up resources and ignore all the warning signs. It is completely unsustainable.

 

So far, we have not really embraced the power to modify ourselves. What if we could use genetic engineering to modify ourselves? Genetic engineering is the process of manually adding new DNA to an organism. The goal is to add one or more new traits that are not already found in that organism.
